Hi Everyone,
We had a wonderful spring semester convocation chapel a few weeks ago. Our next required chapel event will be in connection with our second annual spring banquet, scheduled for Saturday evening, March 7. Our banquet this year will be held at the beautiful facilities of the MacGregor Downs Country Club, located at 430 Saint Andrews Lane, Cary. We will begin the evening with fellowship and hors d’oeuvres at 6:00.
Our speaker at the banquet this year will be Pastor Scott Lehr, pastor of the Southbridge Fellowship Church, a wonderful, fast growing ministry in Raleigh. He’s also a member of the FAITH Association, a fellowship of pastors that helps Shepherds Seminary. I know that we will be blessed by Pastor Lehr’s ministry of the Word.
Again this year we face a dilemma. On the one hand, if you are taking one or more courses for credit this spring semester, you are required to attend the banquet (audits and those sitting out this semester are also invited, of course). On the other hand, we need you to pay $15 a ticket. Thirty dollars per couple isn’t a lot to spend for a special evening around Christian fellowship, a wonderful meal, and a message from God’s Word. But with the possible additional expense of childcare, it can still be a significant expense.
So here are a couple of benefits that may help you. First, the seminary will be subsidizing the cost of your ticket by about $30. Second, if you simply cannot afford the ticket cost, please let me know, and we’ll work out something. Last year we were especially blessed when some of our students donated extra money to help other students attend. We really want everyone to come to this banquet if at all possible. June will be sending out registration information soon. If you absolutely cannot come, please do us the favor of contacting June with your reason for being absent. We’re looking forward to a wonderful time.
